Abstract

Through the analysis of four spatial elements –the center, the boundary, the verticality and the straight line– this paper explores the symbolic nature of space in Fernando de Rojas’ La Celestina and in Dante’s Comedia. In both works space goes far beyond simple geography to be filled with moral meanings.
