The Spanish translation of the Holy Scriptures in the dialogues and other works of Juan de Valdés: typology and discursive strategies

Abstract

I propose to work on the topic of translating into Spanish some passages of Scripture found in the dialogues of Juan de Valdés: the Dialogue of Christian Doctrine, the Christian Alphabet, the Cento dieci divine considerazioni and other dialogues from the Neapolitan era. When, in the Catholic sphere, all translation of the Bible was still prohibited, we will study the strategies to “mask” said translations, and we will try to give a typology of all of them in the different dialogues studied.
