Varia lectio and editorial solutions for Juan de la Cueva’s Rimas sueltas

Abstract

The purpose of this contribution is to provide a description of the phenomenology of authorial interventions witnessed by the autograph of Juan de la Cueva's Rimas sueltas, focusing primarily on the issues posed by certain elements of the author's correction system regarding its reading and/or interpretation. Finally, we will present our possible editorial solutions. Consequently, the editorial system conceived through this process of analysis and study of the author's modus scribendi et corrigendi will be put to the test with the edition of a composition from the codex, the love elegy «¿En qué te ofendo, Amor, que así m'ofendes?»
